I Will Deny You
19th December 2001, 00:21
Hello, everyone. I'm a student from Washington, D.C. and I just found this site. I read part of Guerilla Warfare and all of Socialism and Man in Cuba and I currently edit/write for a leftist underground student newspaper. My ancestors have been involved in the Bolshevik movements in Russia and the Workmen's Circle in America on my mother's side, the anti-segregation movement on my father's side, and the anti-Nazi and anti-Vietnam movements on both sides. Some of my relatives were Che supporters in Cuba, and after Che left and my uncle voiced criticism of Fidel for moving closer to the Soviets, he was forced to flee (he had fled from Stalin, too).
I can't think of anything else you'd want to know. I look forward to talking to all of you.

Thanks.

My parents met at an Amnesty International rally. Two of my grandparents were kind of beatniks, the other two were good old-fashioned Russian communists.

So you believe that Fidel Castro is not the kind of leader that Che Guevara would support.

Please Explain - I agree with that notion and have met some Cubans that fought for Che Guevara and still to this day respect Che Guevara, yet they do not like Castro.

It is possible, they are 2 different people.

Maybe they liked Che for freeing them from Batista but didn't like Castro for becoming the new Batista?
