I am very critical of the notion of people "advocating" a revolution. Revisionist leaders who engage in oppressing the masses also advocate revolutions in words. Perhaps we should also add the criterion of people "advocating" revolutions being accepted as revolutionaries by some organization which actually conducts a revolution.

I suppose you think about communist revolutionary, because there are many revolutions in history and some of them were burgoasie revolutions.
1)as someone said, revolutionary is person who strive to realize revolution, usually such people believe that new society can't be realized without revolution (fight), but at other isde also: revolution means root changes of system of social organizing, not only reform of system.
so, revolutionary should be someone who strive to change society totally and not only partly.
2)in the case of communist revolution, big goal is to reach communist society, classless society where people are economic equal, etc, etc.
3)meaning of life is personal standpoint of every revolutionary person. my beliefs are that human exist in this planet in order to make life better for themselves (constantly fight to make better life in every sense) and to live in harmony with nature because our life depend from nature. therefore we have stomack, therefore we are social animals, and therefore our body can't survive climate conditions if we don't fight to make life better. therefore we are pushed by construction of our body and climate conditions: to use our brain, to organize us; the same as insects, and many other animals.

From Harper's etymology dictionary:

Revolution
1390, originally of celestial bodies, from O.Fr. revolution, from
L.L. revolutionem (nom. revolutio) "a revolving," from L.
revolutus, pp. of revolvere "turn, roll back" (see revolve).
General sense of "instance of great change in affairs" is recorded
from c.1450. Political meaning first recorded 1600, derived from
French, and was especially applied to the expulsion of the Stuart
dynasty under James II in 1688 and transfer of sovereignty to
William and Mary. Revolutionary as a noun is first attested 1850,
from the adjective. Revolutionize "to change a thing completely
and fundamentally" is first recorded 1799.
