EDL fight with the Fash?

Hi Everyone,

I have heard reports that EDL clashed with some Fascists down in London, they seem to be pissed off that the fash have being trying to capitalize on their movement and give it a bad name. Some traditional Jew hating facists are also annoyed that EDL support Israel.

What do people know or thing about these reports? If the EDL are honestly trying to clean up their rank and file from these facists then shouldn't we support them in doing that?

There is also talk of a split between people within EDL that think the whole of Islam is a problem (the Islamphobic grouping) and more moderate members that have got involved to take stand against extermism (something we should oppose in all it's guises).

Just tell us what you are, what you want, get yourself restricted and continue the debate in Opposing Ideologies. Don't pretend you're "one of us" and the most pressing issue you can think of (1 post in) happens to be the EDL's 'moderate' wing.

Look for yourself, either the EDL and Fash have created a very complex piece of propaganda spanning multiple boards and accounts or there was really a fight in London between an EDL group and the far-righ with some members of C18. I'm just saying if there is a more moderate group within EDL trying to clear their rank and file of the fash, should we help them?

No i'm talking about the differance between anti-Jewis facists, and modern Islamaphobic hating people (who the UAF call 'facist scum'). Whether saying that they are technically facist which is a historical term is up for debate, in this instance I was using facist loosley to mean both Jew-hating Nazis and Modern day anti-Islamic supporters of Israel and Zionism.

C18 once carried out a bomb attack on the BNP's headquarters. The fact that there are conflicts within the far-right and that these conflicts can often turn violent doesn't make some groups fascist and others not, nor does it mean that there is any less of a need to physically confront fascism wherever it arises.

Possibly you are right that it has no real political meaning, other than it shows that the EDL are not quite the same as the far-right so calling them Nazi scum is probably inaccurate.

Actually I think part of the reason EDL are doing well is becuase the left are out of touch with the working class desire to oppose all forms of extermism including Islamic extermism.
