Got this idea from the WWII thread, and thought I'd make it a bit more global in scope...
On dad's side, several family members fought in the Sri Lankan civil war, perhaps some during the JVP Sinhala Marxist insurrection. I know one of my uncles was a general when Jaffna was occupied during the 1980s.
On mom's side, had a great grand uncle who fought in the Cuban insurgency (1860s-1890s) and the Spanish American War, first for the Spanish, and then for the Cubans (apparently he met a Cuban dama:lol:).
During the 1959 revolution, had a cousin who attempted to blow up some railroad tracks as a, gasp, counter-revolutionary. He spent 25 years in jail after being ratted out.
On the Marxist side of the family, another cousin back in Cuba fought in the Angolan civil war during the Cuban intervention, probably in the late 1970s/early 1980s, he later died of AIDS. I think he was primarily in logistics though, ie. school teacher or something.

Nothing else than the finnish civil war in my knowledge. Dirty whites murdered the family of my maternal grand-dad. His dad in the front, and his mom because she happened to be a minority during the white terror.

I allegedly have some Irish ancestors on my father's side who fought in the Mexican-American War of 1849 on the American side. Later they were given American citizenship for their trouble. The same branch of the family had people who fought on the Union side of the American Civil War.
My great-grandmother was one of the first female US Marines and was in Europe for World War 1 I believe. Her son (my maternal grandfather) trained to fight in WW2 but the war ended before he saw combat. He fought as a Marine in the Korean War though.
I don't know much about my grandmothers' branches of the family. Obviously also there would have been a lot who served in the armed forces during a time of peace.

My great-grandfather fought in the Spanish-American War, on the American side. There's a small chance that I had ancestors fight in the American Revolution, but I doubt it.
My family has just never been into war. We're more of the firemen type.
EDIT: Other Great-Grandfather fought in WWI, probably on the American side.

My paternal (Quebec French, British and Mohawk) side of the family has been in Canada since it was first colonized by Europeans, so it's very likely that they were engaged in wars against the Natives, the conquest of Quebec by the British and all the other sporadic fighting that went on. I know for certain that some of my paternal ancestors were British loyalists in the American Revolution, and others took part in burning down the White House in the war of 1812:D My grandfather and great uncle from that side of the family were in WWII, with my grandfather volunteering to go to Britian and fight in the RAF, and my great uncle being a combat engineer on the D-Day.
My great-grandfather on my mother's side of the family was a Serbian in Austro-Hungary in WWI, and was drafted to fight the Russians, when he got sent to the trenches, they were showered in Bolshevik propaganda and he deserted and changed his name to Illych:D

American Revolution (US), Civil War (Union), WWII (US), Vietnam (US)
Those are the ones I'm pretty sure of. I should check on the Civil War for specifics (which sides, when/where). I actually don't know about WWI, War of 1812 or the French and Indian War (aka the 7 Years' War), but I wouldn't be surprised.

On my fathers side his uncles and grandfather fought in the War of Independance against the Tans. Their house was burnt out by the Tans so they occupied one of the Landlords houses and lived there for a few years. When the split came with the signing of the Treaty they sided against the Free Staters and my Great Grandfather ended up being excomunicated by the Anointed Pederasts. After he was excommunicated he would never acknowledge the Clergy, refused to take a lift or anything, which was kind of a big deal in Ireland in the 1930s, he also refused to be burried in consecrated ground which was also fairly scandalous in Ireland in the 1930s.
On my mothers side I know an Uncle who moved to America when he was like 17 was drafted into the Vietnam War. But its something he refuses to talk about with anyone for obvious reasons I would assume.

I know that all my uncles in my mother side where involved in Vietnam war in some way while one of my uncles in my father side was involved in the first gulf war (and afterward quit the army since they wanted to court-martial him after the conflict for supposedly "increasing casualties" by making a decision to switch to a lighter body army, which I guess weren't so good against the treacherous rounds of AK-47s, suited for desert conditions, to avoid things like heat stroke, for the infantry on the ground but they failed after that he decided that he needed to get out quick and get his GI bill).
Like Pavlov's House Party...the originator of my last name fought against native americans, etc for the French/Quebec side.
Although, it's rumored that my great-grandfather at my father side married a native-american...

I have some family members who fought or still fight in the PKK-Turkish Army conflict, in the ranks of the former.
Maybe some relatives fought in WW1 but I haven't heard the stories.

My great grandfather on my mother's side fought for the British Army in World War I. When he returned to Ireland, he joined the IRA during the War of Independence and was imprisoned on the prison ship Argenta which was docked in Belfast harbour. He was on hunger strike on the Argenta when my maternal grandmother was born.
My maternal grandfather was also an IRA volunteer during the 1940's. He was sentenced to death for his part in the shooting of RUC constable Patrick Murphy in 1942, although he and four other IRA men were eventually given reprieve from the death penalty. A sixth IRA volunteer, Tom Williams, was hanged for the killing in Crumlin Road gaol.
Aside from that, various members of my immediate and extended family have been involved with republicanism for generations.

My paternal grandfather fought in WWII, more specifically the finnish Continuation War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continuation_War) (he was too young for the Winter War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_War)). He refused to ever say a word about his experiences until the day he died.
