This reminds me of a Seinfeld episode...

In my memory it was rather disappointing, at least on the political level, since it portrayed Rosa as a feminist and pacifist. The opening scene at the Social Democratic Ball was the most amusing.

Is it actually of good quality? Are there any films focusing specifically on the german revolution?

My Uncle, whose taste in films I trust to no end says it is one of the great leftist films, portraying Luxemburg as a human as opposed to outright sanctifying her. Examples being when she had to break with Kautsky and his people she also lost her best friend in Kautsky's wife, as well as her struggles as a woman in a male dominated revolutionary party, and her willingness to reconsider her positions. And what I've heard tells me it does a good job dealing with the political aspects as well. From what I can tell it's definitely worth one to several viewings. :)

I had considered including a link to a NY Times review of the film until I scanned the review and stumbled across this gem:
Her death was [a relief] to Lenin and the Bolsheviks in Moscow,
From what little I know on the subject Lenin & Co. appreciated her as the key figure in the German Communist movement and therefore would not be relieved at the news of her death despite prior disagreements with her, so I abandoned the idea of it being a good review. If anyone has info to the contrary I would be interested. But here it is anyways, for those interested: http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/review?res=9B0DEFDB1130F932A35756C0A961948260
