Seems to me that the majority of the Taliban membership is now just proletarian Afghanis who are sick of the shit. Is there any hope of reforming the Taliban into a progressive body after expelling the US?

It'd become a completely different organization.

If the movement remains a mass movement when it becomes more powerful, then the Afghan proletariat can replace the leadership and transform the organization into a proletarian one.

I can certainly tell you what the structure of the Taliban isn't: it is not a monolithic, organized body of resistance, much like "communism" during the Cold War was not a monolithic entity hellbent on world domination.
