Welcome Loki
I'm a communist but I believe in communism through democratic means. And i'm surrounded by right wingers.
Do you mean good points of the system or the good points of saying you're one?
The good points of the system are.
1) Everyone's truly equal which everyone says is a good idea
2) No one is oppressed
The bad points though are
1) It often results in lazy workers due to lack of motivation
2) Often one man takes too much power and destroys communism
The good points of saying you're one are.
1) you've got a pretty good defence against being called a Bigot, Racist, Sexist.
2) I find communists/socialists are often more friendly than capitalists.
The Bad points are
1) People call you Stalin and call you a retard if you try and persuade him he wasn't communist.
2) I've heard that MI5 have servaillence files on leftists.

My Mother and Father were Communists and so are my Sister and I.
Some accomplishments of Communists in the USA
Child Labor Laws
Trade Unions
Legal Defense for the poor and oppressed. Example..During the ZootSuit Riots...Sleepy Lagoon Murder trial, etc.
Workers Rights (Exploitation of the Working Class)
and today the issues are Rights of Undocumented Workers, Rights of Women and minorities, and still and always Trade Unionism. And More.
We are more 'low-key' now but our issues are the same.
"we must eliminate the Class System that destroys our society"

I think the class system is worse in Britain than in other countries.
In Britain there's people who earn loads for doing nothing because they've just got enormous estates which they inherited, then go to elite schools like Eton and get the contacts they need to get into the civil service and run the country.
We're basicly stuck in fuedelism but it's covered up and there's no political party who will change it (except the Republican party of Britain and the Far-Left parties.)
on a side note: The carear I intend to go into puts me into Socio-Economic Group-Lower Middle Class.
