"The Cheka purged my baby today" by The Iron Felix Support Club
Hay, ho, let's go
She went away to the corner
Said she's going to wait for bread
But she never got there
She never got there
She never got there, they say
[Chorus:]
The Cheka purged my baby today
The purged today
And now they are coming for me
Now I don't know
What the could do to me
They purged her today
They purged her today
I don't know
Where my baby can be
They purged her today
They purged her today
Ringy, ringy, ringy
Up the Lenin
And find out
That he's dead
Ringy, ringy, ringy
Up the Leon man
And find out if
That he's running for his life
Yeah, yeah, yeah
oh oh oh oh oh oh
oh oh oh oh oh oh
She went away to the corner
Said she's going to wait for bread
But she never got there
She never got there
She never got there, they say

It's remarkably unpredictable. He was meant to be in Naples at Christmas 1860, ended up in Cardiff at Christmas 1869. Quite what Dickens was doing there's anyone's guess

Halloween was terrible. I don't know why people celebrate it. It's just average.
Almost got a written warning at work, but managed to turn it around on manager and then didn't get one. Nevertheless, she is still trying to punish me for something that was, in reality, a misunderstanding, and where it wasn't, it was her fault. Oh well.

I had the most mediocre day at work.
So, it started at 9, as you know. Which, considering the lack of sleep (not really a lack, but I would've preferred more) and a tiny breakfast - I only had a croissant and a coffee - wasn't a too dandy. But I managed.
However, when I got to work, there was a pre-screening, as you know. What you didn't know was that it was a for kids film, known as Santa's Buddies, which is this absolutely vile new film which stars a series of Labradors, and other small dogs, who are not only able to speak, but also assist Santa in his duties - which is spreading the Christmas Spirit, and delivering presents, as you know. But what's more, apparently he has a other duties, of which these canines must assist him with: that is, originally, keeping the spirit of Christmas alive all year round (not sure why that is), and about what Christmas is really about. An issue which is apparently not contentious at all. Christmas has nothing to do with religion - Dogs are vulgar materialists, after all - but is about "the thought". It's not about receiving presents, or giving them, but about the thought of receiving them. Some sort of orgy of consumerist thought or something. Not sure.
But if this spirit isn't restored, a big icicle in the North Pole will melt, which is bad for some reason (not sure why, but it's most certainly BAD).
And in the end, some dog with a name like "Super Paws" or "Happy Paws" saves the day by delivering presents in a Santa-like sleigh, which is pulled by labradors instead of reindeer. And they go to all the capital cities of the world to keep it colloquial. There is also a gangsta dog.
Don't understand all of it.
It was all on DVD, and was absolutely atrocious.
Oh. my. god. I didn't even watch it all. It was excruciating. The picture quality sucked as much as the idea, directing, acting and singing. It was excruciating.
But there's more. Oh, there's more.
Right, so this all happened at 10:00 in the morning, which is an absolutely unsavoury hour. Repugnant. Absolutely repugnant.
And when all the mums, dads, and children sashayed in, a few of them brought their own dogs - which, I should mention, were absolutely adorable, whilst the owners, and their respective cretinous children were absolutely abhorrent.
They were forcing these dogs to pose. And one of them, who was donning her dog pride by wearing some disgusting green shirt, was forcing the dog to look at the camera in a way that wasn't cute, or gentle, but aggressive and revolting. She was just being cruel, and it was just so she could get a snap shot. Dog cred. Or something.
But then, out of these beautiful creatures, with wonderfully soft, groomed fur, who were (for quite some time) putting up with this absolutely absurd spectacle, and having constant flashing lights and high pitched screaming, laughing and talking of children, and the monotonous growl of their parents, forcing out their admiration for the cuteness of these walking sweaters, to the point wear it was causing them pain (reflected in the intense squinting of the eyes) - one of them then decided to take a shit on the floor. Now, I don't mean to be vulgar by saying that it reminded me of a self-serve ice cream machine at Pizza Hut, but that's the truth. And then the small wafted down toward where I was, and I almost vomited.
The owner was courteous enough to clean up after his dog on this occasion. I was charmed.
But then, not too long after, the dog decided to take a piss on the floor. I was not too pleased. They asked me to clean it up. My dwindling happiness suddenly plummeted, and I was standing there, borderline fuming. Cleaning up dog piss in a cinema was never something I thought would happen.
But once is acceptable, right? I can deal with that. I wasn't happy, but I could get over it.
But the jerk didn't leave. He stayed outside the cinema for 2 hours, and naturally, the dog pissed again - twice. And who cleaned it up? Yours truly.
A lovely lady helped me (I presume she was the other owner, otherwise, she has courage or a stomach of steel). But she did an average job, and the scent of piss hung about through the foyer.
Children then preceded to walk through this piss, absolutely oblivious to the whole thing.
Naturally, this spread it. I can't blame them for that. I'm not angry at them. Not at all. They were fine.
The one child I wanted to kill was the one who had a look of disappointment on her face when she found out that all the show bags had the same thing in them, and then preceded to look into the bags just to make sure, and just generally acted like a snob in the making.
It was her attitude that bothered me. She's too young to act like she's 40 and lonely. She wasn't inquisitive, she was just being a twat!
And she was only about 7! Maybe this goddamn Christmas spirit crap will make her human.
And after cleaning up copious amounts of dog piss, and rude parents (the owner of the dog, I should mention, just stood and watched, and tried to chat up one of the girls who put on the show, while I did this), I only got paid about $50.
Mother. Fuckers.

I remember several years ago I asked a friend if he thought he was going to be able to get into an advanced English course and he quite seriously replied "yeah I write good".

What's difference between good and well?
Well can often be used as an intensifier.
Your mum is well fit for example.

I think I've seriously alienated on Facebook this activist from the PSL who is well known for going AWOL from the US army, he added me back in 2008 and he recently took me off and has turned down my request to refriend him twice. He has 700+ friends too so I must have really pissed him off... :crying:

People don't half write some utter bollocks. I opened a magazine just now with a letter from a reader that contained the phrase "I love carbs". What is that shit? Do actual human beings think in those terms. Do people actually have enough enthusiasm for one aspect of a food's nutritional content that they "love" it? I eat a fair number of bannanas, should I write in saying I love potassium? I have no idea what the point is in people like thaht.

The idea of the denounce what you want thread is fucking stupid. It concentrates malevolance too much and devalues threads like this one which is the perfect place for ranting and raving. If you're going to become a proper miserable bastard you've got to let you hatred, cyniscism and bile pour our wherever possible rather than what seems to be happening now where people have a bit of a rant in the denounce what you want thread, occaisonally risking a stab at what I have to assume is humour because I refuse to believe there is any other reason to look that stupid deliberately (it must be deliberate, right?). Not only that but I'm fairly sure its allowed to people to get stuff off of their chests which means the acid bitterness that makes this site so charming is softened.
Also its a thread that could easily have run its course and been forgotten about but has been stickied giving it an artificial and pointless life like the forum equivelent of Terri bloody Schaivo if someone had also found a way of pumping McDonalds into her so she turned into a bloated monstrosity filled with pointless sub standard crap and cows arseholes. Christ alone knows what was wrong with just letting the fucking thing run its course rather than adding it to the long list of asinine threads that have been stickied for some arcane reason which completely escapes me.
I denounce the denounce what you want thread.

Seriously, who's idea was it to nominate Tony Abbott to be the leader of the Liberal Party, and which half-wit wankers voted for him to be the leader?
Abbott is hated as much as Turnball.
Conservatives are becoming increasingly dim.

Out here it's the other way around, the Tories are the smart Machiavellian ones who managed to present such a slick, friendly face to the media that they slithered their way into office. The Labour Party were doing all the unpopular shit and when they lost they replaced the unlikeable iron lady Helen Clark (who resigned) with the unlikeable and bland Phil Goff (25+ year Labour bureaucrat who implemented user-pays student fees in the late 80's under the neo-liberal Labour govt). Everyone is going no thnx Labour as a result.
Also L O L @ how bourgeois parties always emphasize their leftism/rightism when they're out of power yet emphasize their centrism when they're in power. Case study: Labour and National.

They tend to influence what's going on, and commonly, socialists will be aware of, and discuss, what they are doing.
You'll even find that rabid leader that you worship, commonly known as Lenin, even wrote about them! Even minor ones like the Australian Labor Party.
