Btw, I am Yankees fan. Thus why I am happy the Yanks (the team) won. ;)

Of course, but are they anywhere near the American level, which is, in essence, made up of all-star teams comprising the best american, latino, and japanese talent?

Though don't get me wrong, it'd be cool if the different leagues played another round every october, but would it be meaningful?

Anyway, one interesting thought I have about the "World" Series is why they call it the World Series. Why?! There's only one country participating! Is this some kind of sick reference to American Imperialism?

Canadian teams are allowed in I think, they just usually don't get in.

Chicano, I don't consider myself to be anti-American, and certainly not anti the American working class. I have been to the States twice, both times for very short periods unfortunately, and have really enjoyed it both times, and found Americans to be some of the nicest people that you could ever hope to meet.

That said Baseball is just such an awful sport that it deserves to be mocked, and Baseball fans get uptight about it so easily.

Fair enough. Baseball does suck. That World Series line is a famous one on a short list of eurocentric anti-Americanism. Maybe work on another reason baseball sucks. Like I think it was the second game of this WS and the 8th inning took like 45 minutes. It was horrible.

I like baseball. however I like any competition involving a ball (no homophobic jokes, please), except golf.

with baseball you have to understand all the rules to realise the constantly shifting tactics to thus enjoy it.

I agree with what you are saying (except I don't like American football and basketball), but I think its sad that you felt it necessary to ask people not to post homophobic jokes on a site full of leftist, even if it is chit chat.
