(question) US led interventions and why they had to occur

I am currently working on a piece about Nation Building, the document I am analysing talks at length about the US rebuilding societies around the globe that have emerged from conflict.

However, I know most of the nations it has so benevolently rebuilt it has also caused the conflict they have just emerged from. I am going to write about the IMF reforms pushed onto Sierra Leone and how this caused conflicts.

Can anybody link me to documents on the actions of the USA in the Balkans and how them undermined Yugoslavia and how they were the architects of the wars (as well as countless others)

All examples and contributions welcome, but some scholarly text links would be simply divine.

(I put this in this thread as discussion may well grow out of the question, I know I have alot to add)

Diane Johnstone's Fool's Crusade is an excellent account of the destruction of the FRY that complements Parenti's book. Chomsky's The New Military Humanism is also good on the same subject.

I hate to mention them, because they are a sick little cult, but the former incarnation of the Socialist Equality Party, the Workers League, published a pamphlet which outlined the various efforts the U.S. engaged in before the break of up Yugoslavia in order to destroy that country. Check out the World Socialist Web Site and see if you can find some information.
