Is this a specific opera that happens to be communist, communist opera, or just chinese opera in general? IMHO (and I'm Chinese btw... if it matters) Chinese opera is a very.... acquired sound. So no matter the topic matter, it's very difficult to actually listen to.

My favorite is this parody from a French film, "Le Chinoise a Paris", where the Red Chinese have taken over France, and the Opera "carmen" is performed as a revolutionary opera:

The awesome thing that I learned is that way back in the 70's, during their Maoist orientation, Some Canadian communist groups used to do Revolutionary operas just like these!

It gave me an idea for a school project, to try and do "the three little pigs" chinese revolutionary opera style, but it never quite went through.

but in the version I am watching the people sing... in a very nasally... very high pitched sound... not very pleasant...
