Anybody know what is happening here.
The WDL/EDL are saying they have cancelled....
... but they have also said that the time and place of future demo's will be kept private.
I think they might be trying to pull a fast one... any info?
:)

The EDL didn't turn up, but there were a couple quietly milling around the crowd that some people thought they recognised from Swansea.
There was a more diverse mix of political and ethnic groups than there was in Swansea.
Music, drumming etc. red choir, swp, sp, cpb etc. etc., asian youth, Plaid, Labour, Liberals, UAF, a couple of vicars and others.
There were some times when we had been told the EDL were coming and the mood became more quiet and serious. I think if the EDL had turned up things might have been more aggressive than in swansea IMO.
Some of the speakers CPB, SP and SWP raised other concerns about the workers struggle and the need for a political alternative to capitalism... but the main emphasis was by far on anti-racism.
I'm not sure that political consciousness was raised all that much, but I think that there may be more potential for that as all these different groups build more connections.
