Well, you can't stop the liberals from fighting fascists of course- but historically they have always been fickle on this matter, as you are no doubt already aware. WWII for example saw certain liberal bourgeoisie types, and conservatives like Churchill, uniting against Germany, Italy, and Japan because their own imperial agenda was at stake.

The bourgeois have no interest, as a system, in crushing fascism. They want to keep it on a chain not destroy it. The far right give support for the government on things like " anti-terror" laws and racist policy. The bourgeois use fascism to divide the working class and to crush revolutionary movements, attempts of this can be seen in Germany, Spain, Italy, Argentina, Russia etc etc etc

If we leave the govt to fight fascism they will come after us in the same way when class consciousness builds to a threatening level.

If we fight fascism with them we simply defend the current government. If we allow them to fight fascism for us we weaken our own position. We should organize ourselves to fight fascism and lay roots in local communities to eventually fight the ruling class.

They are practically one and the same, they are 'tools' of the capitalist system.
Capitalism will use fascist as a fail safe to try to stop revolutions, and so we must combat this, Capitalism uses the kind of racism and division fascism spreads to keep the working class divided and thus easily controlled. Therefore to over come the capitalist system we must disarm it as well
