It's a toughie.

The old one: "Accelerate Your Life"

The new one: "A Global Force for Good"

From an objective standpoint it's hard to say which is more inaccurate, that the Navy is a global force for good or that in the Navy you will have an exciting time.

But I had to go with "Accelerate Your Life", since I still find it a bit easier to stomach the idea of someone getting duped into peeling potatoes in the middle of the Persian Gulf for four years after thinking it would be exciting than to think about someone enforcing U.S. global hegemony with the belief that they are doing good.

A global force of opressing regression is more like it. I'd have to go with number two, as it is utterly arrogant to think that the U.S. navy alone could ever achieve anything. It is the wide imperialist alliance with Japan and Europe that counts.

Also, I thought that "accelerate your life" meant that you die sooner. It appears they mean it as in "You'll have more action"

"Accelerate your life", not as big of a lie.

Here are a few they left on the cutting room floor:

"U.S. Navy: A Bigger Band of Pirates than Somali Has Ever Produced"

"War Is Peace, Ignorance Is Strength, Freedom Is Slavery, The U.S. Navy Is A Global Force For Good"

those didn't do as well with the focus groups though.

I like "Accelerate your life". It sounds like a nonsense phrase.

Don't forget: "The United States Navy: Get bossed around by drunks while sitting in the middle of the ocean for months on end. I mean...fight for freedom...?"

Actually, here's my favorite Navy slogan:

Real catchy if you ask me.

"The US Navy: Let's go bomb the hell out of some place" - not particularly funny or catchy, but a bit of truth could do well for the Navy's image.

US Navy: Dont kill yourself in a dead end job, let the navy do that.

Heh. If the image of U.S. soldiers as deliberate and conscious imperialist agents that some people on revleft have is accurate, then adoption of your slogan should result in an instant recruitment surge.

Accelerate Your Life

but none of them two suit it. Something more like "Imperialism comes first" or "Splash with Pride"
