Do any of you do body weight training, such as push ups, pull ups, weightless squats etc?

I've been doing them for two years now and they have really helped with my martial arts training. Now I can do some pretty advanced stuff like one armed push ups, L-seats, no leg push ups and hand stand push ups.

I think they're really great exercises because they improves your stamina and strength. Plus you don't have to spend money on weight lifting equipment or join a gym.

Anyways, just curious. Are any of you into this?

my involvement in Muay thai showed me the wonders of body weight exercises. I now swear by burpees. Every revolutionary should do 25 decending pyrimid burpees:laugh:

see the hand stand push ups how long did it take to get your balance? i been trying to do them for about 2 months and i have to lean against a wall or get someone to hold my legs...no balance whats so ever.

It took me about 5 months to finally get the balancing down. I started off with a wall but gradually worked my way out of it.

The way I practiced was by not leaning on a wall and just balancing myself without the wall. I had to start out like a foot away from the wall incase I ended up falling.

I was aware of the term "calisthenics," and usually prefer to do body weight exercises (as I'm not trying to become a body builder or anything), but wasn't aware that that was what I was doing until now.

What's the diff between no leg pushups and handstand pushups?

Just keep practicing, you'll get it eventually.

I've read a few articles online when I first started bodyweight exercises just to get some basic some down and to master some advance exercises. But most of the exercises I do come straight out of my imagination really. It's amazing how many types of different exercises you can come up with by just letting your imagination go wild.

A no leg push up is also known as a planche push up. Your legs are basically raised off the ground and your hands remain on the ground helping you stay balanced. It is kind of like a hand stand, but instead of your body being lifted in a fully vertical position, you are on a slight angle. I can't really explain well, but you can look up Planche Push Up on YouTube and see some examples of it.

For hand stand pushups, your basically in a hand stand position and using your arms and hands to drop your self down and push yourself up. You can see some videos of that on YouTube as well.
