I just got a hold on a bunch of Shakespeare plays and I just finished reading one...Twelft Night
This is a weird comedy, it starts with a girl named Viola who has just gotten in a shipwreck. She lost her twin brother in it.
She hears about a lonely Duke and decides to help him out. So she dresses up like a man!
The Duke tells her about how he is in love with Olivia, a countess, and wants Cesario (the name Viola uses) to help make Olivia fall in love with him, the Duke. Viola hears about how Olivia's brother died and so she decides to help.
Meanwhile theres a guy named Sir Andrew who wants to woo Olivia and, with the help of Sir Toby (Oliva's drunk kindsman who wants Oliva to marry Andrew cuz Andrew is rich and can buy all the finest wine) marry her.
When Viola arrives to tell Oliva (Viola is sitll dressed as a guy) about the Duke, Oliva says she already knows and will not marry the Duke.
When Viola leaves she finds out that she is in love with the Duke...but cant say a thing because the Duke doesnt know her to be a woman.
And Oliva finds out she is in love with Cesario (the guy Viola is cross-dressed as ;) )
And so the story builds up around that...its really funny and I advise you guys to stop readin so much political stuff and get your hands on some beutiful works of art such as this play!
