I had recently read several of Ayn Rands books, and although i dont agree with alot of things she says, I think she is a great writer and thinker. What do you think?

I think she's terrible personally. Some interesting quotes of hers on individualism; one I think a Capitalist on here has in his sig, but on the whole, I don't rate her as a writer or as a political theorist.

She is o.k. On a right-wing website I argue with, they use her as some sort of justification or something. I know that does make sense, but it does not.

I read "Anthem" and "Fountainhead," neither of which I have the gall to touch again, as they were the most boring peices of Literature I have ever touched. Some interesting, if not sardonic, thoughts were presented, however, especially in "Anthem."
A Right-Wing Anarchist has no place in my mental library, though

Don't bother with ATLAS SHRUGGED then, it was definetly hardest to get through.

I had to read Anthem in high school. I disagree with her hysterical anti-communism. She actually suggests in Anthem that communism will take man back to some kind of feudalist setup.
The only enduring part of the book for me is how all the people call themselves we and they. Now whenever someone refers to his or herself as "we" in my presence, I have to ask them if they mean that in the Ayn Rand/Anthem sort of way. It annoys the hell out of most people I do that to... hehe!
