Sherry Wolf, the author of Sexuality and Socialism (http://www.haymarketbooks.org/product_info.php?products_id=1774) and a leading organizer of the National Equality March last weekend, looks at what made the demonstration a success.

I've met both Ruder and Wolf. Their job is to convince college students to sell newspapers, magazines, and books to support their flights all over the country, spreading their Cliffite shit. Ruder and Wolf both flew to Washington D.C., while most of the ISO people had to fork almost $100 for the trip.

ISO is the Amway of the Left. You will never see your dues money go to anything but paying for the lifestyle of rabid anti-communists like Wolf and Ruder.

On topic, Obama has grown in my eyes as he dared to stand up for the LGBT community, despite being heavily bombarded by conservative bigots. Now it is important that all progressive political movements take a stand so the president would think twice about compromising his agenda.

What the fuck are you talking about? Yes we have a very successful printing operation that printing a ton of socialist literature and I proudly support that. Does your organization not do this?

Yes I and other ISO members and hundreds of thousands of other activists organized buses for this demonstration raising money and paying out of pocket. Is there some other way you used to get there? Teleportation perhaps?

My dues support organizing efforts that pay off, not posh lifestyles, and I proudly support that. I don't think you know what you are talking about.

Oh and I'm not a college student so shove that anecdote and get a fucking clue.

lol, what a joke. I've been to ISO's events, there aren't any workers there. The ISO consciously in the 1980s made a decision to focus only on college students.

The ISO is most definitely about supporting people like Sherry Wolf and Eric Ruder. They do not work. Their job is to promote themselves, via the ISO. The ISO promotes a cult of personality around these people. Disgruntled people in the organization tell me this, and I've observed it as well.

Not a fucking dime came from the ISO to help organize that trip to the local ISO in my area, and they know it and are pissed off. The Wolf's and the Ruder's and D'Amato's of ISO all got plane tickets and hotels paid for with their dues money and the money they get for pushing their books on college campuses. Literally nothing comes back to them at all, because it is going to sustain the cult of personality around these people, all of whom are mostly shitbags. D'Amato has personally talked shit about people I know who are amazing organizers and good people, who do more for the Left and people in this country than that fucking idiot ever will. Sherry Wolf supports US imperialism, and has made this clear to me personally. Eric Ruder is a fucking nutjob.

ISO is a fucking cult that exists to promote a handful of people at the expense of everyone else. They barely do any activism on campuses in the vast majority of their locations. People that actually want to fight and struggle end up leaving the organization because they don't think selling fucking ridiculous newspapers to college students is helping anything (and it isn't). One of the best activists and organizers I know is being expelled from the ISO for calling them out of this type of shit.

Fuck the ISO.
