I am in the process of reading my sisters copy out of boredom, and the author makes a couple allegories to the government taking our civil rights away, and how the press is deluding the people into believing that nothing is wrong with the world. I was wondering if anyone else has read it, or if anyone has any additional thoughts about the the possibility of socialist propaganda in childrens books.

Lefty- i dont think you are the only one who has noticed this. I noticed it right away too. Today i even found an article in the paper about it. The writer was pointing out that she is openly discussing what the media truly does, which is brainwash people.

Also, how the ministry of magic is suddenly involved at Hogwarts reflects some of her feelings i think. They are trying to keep everyone in the dark while acting out harshly on Potter and Dumbledore in order to gain support for their cause, which is to forget about Lord Voldemort for their own advantages. Know what i mean.

This book is definitely different from the other four. There is a stronger message.

Ya know- although i dont believe in people having huge amounts of money, while others have none, Rowling really earned that money. It was her creative genius that brought her the money, after living a very hard life (single mother with no money what so ever).

Also, notice that she has given millions and millions to charities and she has even created her own charity for single mothers living on welfare. I would say that that is most admirable. Realistically, if you found yourself in a position of incredible wealth, you wouldn't give all of it away. I think that Mrs. Rowling is a pretty good role model for wealthy people, and if everyone that was as wealthy as her gave to charities as much as she did, the world would be a much better place.

That is a dumb ass comment, I dont think that she especially excpected to get rich. She wrote a book, not set up a multinational.

I doubt she is a socialist It does not mean that she is necesarily blind to the the evils and injustices in the world.

My favorite part is when Hagrid convinces Harry that he is really Rasputin reincarnated, here to bring the downfall of the Dumbledore Dynasty to the Spider Socialists.
