I guess you also have a low opinion of the IRA in the aftermath of 1916- a group of men and women who fought, but surrendered to avoid further bloodshed without hope of victory. Same with the IRA at the end of the Civil War, at the end of the Border Campaign, and the RIRA after the Omagh atrocity.

The INLA fought a war for much longer than the men of 1916 or Tan War, against even longer odds, and only gave up when there was no possibility of making gains through arms. I have massive respect for the Volunteers of the INLA, they have stood firm and never given up any weapons, and more importantly they never decommissioned their politics.

You're criticising the INLA for not doing the impossible. The INLA could never dismantle British imperialism in Ireland. Nor could the larger PIRA, even when it was causing billions in damages to British cities.

Did you receive an edited copy of the statement? I read it as it was, clearly stating that the INLA are going to stand down and focus on purely political means towards creating a revolutionary climate.

Never have the INLA claimed they would police any communities but act upon serious threats to the working class in extreme circumstances. The ideals of the INLA will now continue by purely peaceful political means through the IRSP to agitate and mobilise the working class.

Conforming to what system? This decision has been taken, and not lightly at that, internally within the membership of the RSM. It has not been imposed upon the movement like it has to others. It is a clear statement that the RSM is completely committed to the peaceful path it chose in 1998 with the declaration of a ceasefire.

yeah you can buy a 800 pound state of the art pistol on the street for 200 pound.
No you cannot, you can buy a shit webly for 600 pound, then be stuck trying to find the correct ammunition.

Seeing as 69 percent of guns on the street are converted replicas that are known for their poor quality and suspectibility to jam and get the user caught in a bad situation.
You cannot buy weapons so easily as you and the sun make out, and when you say it you sound like a moron.
If weapons were so cheap why do the CIRA RIRA scavenge like fuck because of their shortage of weapons and munitions.

Even if i could fing a firearm it would have been rendered useless in a combat situation because of all the time some stupid wannabe revolutionary has had it buried in his garden letting it rust and become useless.
Only an AK could withstand that kind of abuse and believe me they do not go for cheap in britain.

Obviously you haven't told someone to buy guns and most people know the price of firearms in there local area but its a damn good excuse for a cop to waste your time so he can spend a day away from the routine of checking toilets to make sure no one is nobbing each other in them.

You're just interpreting shit out of thin air. People turn to religion out of their material circumstances, abject hopelessness and the subjection of the bourgeoisie. Obviously something thats too over your head to understand.

Death By Starbucks, you are being led along by the bourgeoisie. While religious institutions are used to control the masses, they are also used to divide them. When attempting to subjugate newly claimed lands, for example, the British Empire would import people of differing religions to create division and strife, thereby dividing the native population so they could not resist.

Besides that, the IRA and all it's various offshoots are hardly religious fundamentalists. Even in the time of Collins, they favored (and founded, for that matter) a secular state where even the offspring of the settler demographic bombs are free to live in peace.

The split between Catholic and Protestant was one manufactured by the British to ensure their domination over Ireland.

Yes, just after reading an article here from the Irish Times about the history of anti-Protestant sectarianism in the 26 counties after they gained self-government in the early 20's, and it confirms exactly what you're saying:

Anti-Catholic pogroms centred on Belfast shipyards
were initiated in July 1920 by unionist leader Edward Carson and retrospectively
endorsed by his deputy, James Craig, Northern Ireland’s first prime minister. Over
10,000 were said to have been driven from their work within two weeks, including
"rotten Protestants" (ie socialists) who objected and 1,500 Catholic ex-British army
servicemen.

Vociferous objections came from southern Protestants, including unionists. They were
provoked by Carson’s suggestion that sectarianism in reverse happened in the south.
Daily newspapers, especially The Irish Times, published protestations that such had
never been the case and was not the case in the middle of the violent Anglo-Irish
conflict.

A statement from the Rev Bertram C Wells, St Thomas’s Church, Dugart, Achill Island,
Co Mayo, was typical. On May 4th, 1922, he thanked "our Catholic neighbours and
friends for their kindness and help" in making the "dance in aid of the Dugart
National School a success".

He continued: "To the officers and members of the IRA and volunteers who were
present and came to my assistance in more senses than one on that night, I desire
thus publicly to express my warmest thanks. In these days when there is so much
foolish talk going on, I feel it my duty, as well as privilege, to state that
nothing but the greatest kindness and courtesy has always been shown us by our
Catholic neighbours."

The difference between the south, where republicanism more or less won, and the north, which is still colonial, are night and day.

we cant have dissent in 1984
gooooosesteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

no wonder the left is doing so well

You know, I am getting extremely tired of this complete strawman. Every time someone comes to this forum and starts acting like a complete jackass and get called on it, they start whining about how it's just like 1984. No, it's not just like 1984. This website is for leftist discussion and debate, but it is not your personal playground to treat people like trash and disrupt that debate by trolling and name calling. If you engaged in this kind of disruptive behavior on any other forum, whether it be leftist politics, mainstream politics, science fiction, pie of the month club, or model car painting, it wouldn't be tolerated and you would be banned. We're not ordering you to "goose step" back into line, we're simply asking you to stop trolling otherwise reasonable discussions. This is your final warning before you are banned for being an outright troll.

IIRC, Restriction is for those who aren't revolutionary leftists, but it's not a dumping ground for trolls. Trolls get banned.

by conforming to the very system that drove the hungerstrikers to their deathsSo King and Gandhi where conformists?

You out of your mind, give peace a chance. Or keep slandering men that have done 1000000 times more for the struggle then you or I have.

My father was actually a man named Robert Sands and he was far braver than you paper tigers.
i hope you all wake the fuck up you stupid bastards and see we are becoming extinct, the left is becoming a group of bones old reminders of a different time.
wake the fuck up or mourn the death of revolution.
I here tonight throw my revleft membership in the bin, it is a worthless site full of touts and RA SELLOUTS

You know nothing about us. At all. I'm not sure how you think us not wanting to tolerate your obvious trolling means that no one here is dedicated to class struggle, but you're more than likely just throwing a fit. Oh well, you were given a chance and you wasted it.

I here tonight throw my revleft membership in the binThis is the one thing you did actually get right. Bye.
