The following is a message from an Indian member of this forum, who didn't want to post it themselves for fear of being arrested. (Apologies if this has already been posted, I was gone for a few days)

Comrade,
I am requesting some comradely help from you. I hope that you are not an Indian citizen and for that reason I am writing this private message to you. India is now going to launch full fledged, imperialist Green Beret like tactics to fight against revolutionary forces. The bloody home minister of Govt. of India and the prime minister, both are willing to apply iron hands to stop revolutionary struggle and for that reason, they are ready to cross any line. Last year, the Parliament had passed a dirty, demonic law name UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act), by which police can detain any person for 90 days without producing in court and in the court, statement given to police can be approved as evidence. Recently, home secretary of Govt. of India had instructed all states to detain any revolutionary under UAPA in such section, that they can be detained for life. Recently, a press had been sealed and workers arrested by police BECAUSE THE POLICE SUSPECTS THAT REVOLUTIONARY MAGAZINES AND BOOKS HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED HERE. At present, if you have been caught with just a picture of posted of Mao, you can be arrested and detained nearly for life.
I hope that you are member of not only revleft, but also some other forums. The moderators have already told that police is watching this website and what I guess, if I found to report these incidents here in this website, I may be arrested by police. So, I am requesting you to publish the message on forums like "politics" or any other forum that you think suitable, so that other comrades can hear about the atrocities here in India.
I am also requesting you to tell other revolutionary and fighting organizations to take stand in favor of struggling Indian people and organize protests near Indian embassies worldwide and do something like "boycotting Indian goods", so that the dirty, reactionary Indian ruling class can realize that the struggling people of India have support of other struggling people of the world.
I AM SENDING THIS MESSAGE TO SOME OTHER COMRADES ALSO. KINDLY DELETE THIS MESSAGE AFTER READING IT.

If we could get some confirmation on this, I'd gladly pass the word along.

Some quick research seems to show that use of the UAPA against Maoists and suspected Maoists has increased hugely recently.

http://indianvanguard.wordpress.com/ has many recent posts on cases based around it.

A prominent activist Binayak Sen is also imprisoned under this act apparently. He doesnt seem to be a proper Maoist, just sympathiser

I would love to participate in a pro-Maoist rally in front of the Indian embassy. I'm in Ny, if anyone else would be down PM me and maybe we can get something together, at the very least it might hearten these brave people.

Please be careful everyone - the following article should serve as a warning!

E-TRAIL LED TO HIS CAPTURE!

One of the factors that led to Maoist Politburo member Kobad Ghandy’s arrest was his carelessness in concealing his tracks while using the Internet, police sources reveal.

As an ideologue, and head of the Maoist’s publicity wing, Ghandy (63) drafted party strategy documents, sometimes circulating them on the web.

Police sources said it was the seizure of a laptop the Maoist left behind during a police raid in Jharkhand that set them on Ghandy’s trail.

Ghandy had authored a document soon after the Lok Sabha elections called ‘Post-election situation: Our tasks’ that was found on this laptop.

Thereafter, cyber crime detectives tracked various IP addresses through which the document was circulated, which in turn led to people whose questioning led them to Ghandy.( Editors Note- Questioning is a an understatement - Brutal Inhuman Torture should be appropriate word.)

The Maoists never use telephones or mobiles to communicate with one another, said intelligence source, knowing these can be tapped. But laptops, CDs and data cards have been seized from them.

Ironically Ghandy himself used to frequently advise cadres to be careful while using the Net, showing them how to cover their e-tracks.

Documents seized from the Maoists show they were thoroughly conversant with Net usage, and the dangers associated with it.

Letters from the party’s brass, now in police possession, says, “It can be assumed that all pro-Maoist blogs and email ids are under surveillance …”

Shares cell with ex-Punjab CM’s killer

Meanwhile, in Delhi Tihar Jail, Ghandy is sharing his cell with two Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorists — Gursewak Singh (who allegedly assassinated former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh) and Parvinder Singh.

Ghandy on Thursday told the jail officials that he was suffering from cancer in the urinary bladder and had some heart ailment. Thereafter, he was taken to GB Pant Hospital and was given medical attention.

Earlier this week when Delhi Police went to arrest Ghandy they did not even have a photograph to identify the top Naxal leader.

“We had no idea how he looked like. One of our informers pointed towards Ghandy when he came near MTNL office behind Bhikaji Cama Place. It was then that we arrested him,” said a senior police officer on condition of anonymity.

So far, I know, the person, who was working as courier of Gandhi, a comrade and party member, had actually worked as the informer and helped in the arrest of Gandhi.
