Guardian columnist George Monbiot's new book - The Age of Consent, a Manifesto for a New World Order - addresses the question: what would democratic global governance look like?
Monbiot proposes a range of radical measures, including the creation of a world parliament, the scrapping of the UN security council and the closure of the IMF and the World Bank.

Monbiot will be going on a nationwide tour with The Age of Consent, dates as follows:

Oops!Not visited literature for a wee while.
As for more information,I think you've got it covered CIKI;)
Of his books,I've only read Captive State,and found it extremely interesting.Well researched and written,although the subject matter doesn't lend itself to the title of a"gripping" tale.Still,worth a read.His Grauniad columns are what got me interested in the first place,and I'll definately be reading The Age of Consent,and hopefully going to hear him speak(as long as it's less than 2hours,or I'll be late for work.Gotta get off nights:(!).Not commie,definately green/left.I have no trouble recommending that people read his work.
