Frantz Fanon !!!!

Has anyone here ever read a book by Frantz Fanon ???The wretched of the earth (Les damnés de la terre)or any of his other books ????

I've read The Wretched of the earth and Black Skin, White Masks both awesome books.

yes! I have been talking bout him since i came on here and no one knows bout him! read both, gettin african revolution tomorrow and read various bios on him. i prefer black skins, but wretched is good, just bit heavier- finished it yesterday. get the introducing fanon cos it tells you everything you need to know about him. or the david caute small bio

I had never heard of Frantz before. I saw his name and a mention to his book(The wretched)while reading a french book about the FLQ(Québec liberation front).It said it was the bible for DECOLONISATION !!??

yeah- that and the third world. i found him out cos my dad has these small biographies on leftr wingers, and he seemed to stand out, and seemed a bit more interesting than the economics of marx. economics bores me, social studies, racism etc dont.

I was reading Huey P.'s autobiography and he talked about how The Wretched had a huge impact on him and he made it required reading if you wanted to be a Panther and all that fun stuff.

yeah-theyd read it bout 6 times- i think him n bobbyt seale. they would read a chapter, then go through it in depth. i think one of em said something like every brother on a rooftop can quote fanon. what excactly that means and its context ill find out in a bit, cos in a hurry at the mo.
