its now possible on religious grounds to refuse being served by a women at the driving license registration center.
its fucking disgusting, but the worst in all that is, NOBODY IS FUCKING TALKING ABOUT IT, its barely in the news.

its barely in the news, but some local radio station have been talking about it a lot. its not the hoax, official copies of the bill is avaliable on the governement website.

basicly, it give to the governement full discretionary power to adapt the laws to people religious practice.

so far, the governement used this bill to allow muslim women to refuse men and assidic jews to refuse women in the provincial car license center.

So, just going on what has been said, how is this not going to get struck down by the Canadian High Court (or whatever it's called)? There is no way (afaik) this would survive in the EU.

If I had a job in this place, could I refuse to serve "black" folk? Or people wearing a turban, or even, on Thursdays, anyone at all? (Mormons used to claim that "black" folk were spawn of Satan or something like that. I'm sure there are Christian nut jobs who don't want to help non-Christians. And, my religion says that helping others is a crime punishable by more helping of others. So I try and not do too much of that.)

i dont have any english copy, tanks to my province fetish for that overly complicated language.
but basicly, this law give the green light to the governement to modify its rules and policies to accomodate to religious minorities.

no, if you work there you cant refuse people if they are black or muslim, on the other hand if i am a muslim and i dont want to be served by a women i can refuse a women.

this is verry disturbing and create a dangerous exemple.

btw the women in burqua in my city finally decided to change their clothing. it was apparently a complete misunderstanding, they didnt know they could go out without it. if you dont know the story we accepted 300 burmanese refugee men and women, some of them muslim.
