X2 - reds and whites

really really good movie

I especially liked how cerebro displayed mutants as reds and flatscans as whites

I also liked how wolverine sliced up like a hundred secret service dudes, and how pyro burnt a dozen or so cops

I sorta didn't like how the movie made a point of showing all those cops just charred, sorta like a loonie tune cartoon, but not seriously hurt. THEY WERE FRIED! I mean, pyro shot a flame that blew up a fucking cop car, but that same flame only left the cops with some black soot on their faces? Just like Tom and Jerry when a stick of dynamite would go off in tom's face.

I'm gonna see it again on the same day that I see the matrix

Interesting view of racial differences. The line that really stood out is when Nightcrawler was talking to Mystique, and ask her why she doesn't just choose to look like a normal human, and she answers "We shouldn't have to." That line really got to me.

I haven't seen the movie. But I hate it when popculture movies actually say something inspiring, because you can't quote it without looking like you've never picked up a book in your life.

yes, great line. especially from nightcrawlers perspective, who could not alter his appearnce. for him, mystique summarized EVERYTHING he should be, as well as everything he every wanted to be (ie. look "normal")

xmen is popculture, but it has always been an anti-establishment sort of idea. the movie has been true to the comics in that regard. actually, so were all of the cartoons so far.

what do you think he point was of the movie showing the cops unharmed?

I mean one of them put a bullet in wolverines head for no apparent reason just before that

and its not like wolverine wouldn't have done the same thing to them, only he would have sliced em all up

like, its okay for cops to be nazi's, arresting people for no reason and shooting them for even less of a reason, but when, in self defence, a mutie defends himself, no cops got hurt

Or it's because in order to keep it's PG-13 rating they needed to show the cops survived.

I'm not gonna defend the retarded people that screen the movies and say what needs to be cut and such, but their logic was probably that everyone knows wolvie is a mutant and can survive getting shot and whatnot, but that the cops were human and woulda died.
