Because people can't see you rolling your eyes at the incredible stupidity coming out of their mouth.

But Kanye West glasses give you supernatural mad rhyme capability, plus the power to see through capitalistic bullshit, its like a commie version of X-ray vision.

There SHOULD be a smily with Kanye glasses. Someone ought to make one.

It isnt, it just makes you look like a outcasted 80's throwback.

Shades stopped being 'cool' some time after the release of Top Gun on VHS.

EDIT: I bet half the forum have no idea what i'm on about.

Official Thread Partypooper:

The sunglasses fad was engineered because it's antisocial - it breaks down relations between people. The coolest person, the best person is the person who doesn't make eye contact with others. It's a really extreme manifestation of capitalist individuality.

A guide for those who have no idea what this fogey is on about:

Top Gun was an atrocious film starring Tom Cruise about a maveric pilot (he may even have had that as a call-sign or something. I watched it once. On a boat whilst being drowsy and nautious.) which has some tediously predictable plot. It is considered by true afficionados of the genre as including some of the finest unintentionally homoerotic scenes.

The VHS looked like this:

They suffered from a host of problems includin wear on the tape which resulted in problems with the audio and visuals (i.e it became completely fucking unwatchable), something I was reminded of a few weeks back when I tried to watch the Lion King. VHS players also used to have a habit of occaisonally, and for no discernable reason, eating your tapes; the two hypothesis I cooked up for this are 1) the machine hates you or 2) the machine requires the blood sacrifice of your innocent films/recorded episodes of eastenders/dodgy porn in order to function.
