I just picked this book up yesterday, it's by Elaine Pagels, and it explains how the Christian and to a larger extent (Western) concept of sex and original sin evolved, based on simply the ideas put forth in the first three chapters of Gen, it's a very interesting read since Ms. Pagels is secular but not to secular (She is a professor of religion after all). If anyone is interested in the topic, it's a nice read.
