I'm more liberal than the average Democrat. I believe in higher minimum wage, socialized medicine, free education, higher taxes on the rich, for sure be more aggressive on turning America into a more clean energy using country.
Yet I still some what believe in a class system, still have a difference in pay, the death penalty, but in only rare cases.
Now then I'm not closed minded at all to communism or what ever. i'm currently reading Utopia by Thomas More and my next book will be communist Manifesto by Karl Marx.

I'm just making sure you guys would be ok with me being on here?

Also I kinda agree with mostly the Green party.

Thank you for your time.

Welcome.

You will be restricted to OI though. Nothing personal, but we don't allow self-proclaimed liberals to much of the rest of the board. Feel free to ask and discuss in there though.

How come you believe in a class system? Isn't it harmful to society when a child's opportunities in life are determined by the choices made by their parents or birthplace and not their own actions? Shouldn't all people be given an equal opportunity to achieve?

I also agree with difference in pay and not many believe that everyone should be making $7.50 and hour whether you are a CEO or cashier. That is an ignorant propagandized misconception people like Ayn Rand have developed to suggest that socialists and communists are merely utopists. However, I can guarantee that many here, including me, believe that there should be a pay bracket to ensure that one individual cannot make enough money to become detrimental to society, so that way you can still be assured that if you work harder or produce more in your position there should be somewhat of a monetary and services benefit.

I also believe in the death penalty. There are many liberals that exaggerate humanitarianism to mean that every human life is sacred beyond reproach, but that isn't me. I think that those who believe that every criminal, no matter how grotesque or inhumane, can be rehabilitated to fit within society or should be kept in a taxpayer funded cage until they die are foolish hippies.

Actually, you're not welcome. This room is too full and there are some (myself included) that want a wider space in the front pews. So please, go somewhere else. Oh yeah, before you leave, can I have a cigarette? Not my brand but thanks anyway. Got a light? What? Oh yeah, yeah, there's a space open, right here to my left. Watch it there. Just step over him; he's passed out from the heat.

Just kidding.

WELCOME
