Since this was a hot topic in the Portuguese elections thread, I guess it should have its own thread. Greece will hold parliamentary elections on the 4th.

I just wish they still reported the real politics of Greece. I haven't heard a dickie bird since January, apart from somewhere being blown up.

There hasn't been much to report. The most controversial thing the past few months has been the pursuit of a tougher policy against illegal immigrants by the goverment hoping to gain back some of its old "core" supporters that moved to the far-right.

The center-left party (just as neoliberal as the conservative one) is expected to win with a landslide.

Syriza despite disagreements between members of the various parties/currents that brought it close to breaking up will be getting more than 3% of the votes and enter parliament.

The greek green party might do so as well, but they 're just sad. Beyond sad actually.

How was there not much to report since January? Especially considering the saturation reporting it got then?

Yes, excuse me, there are actually hundreds of things to report.

First of all after the magnificent insurrection of December we had a full blown revolution quite soon (and how could it be otherwise?)
Guilottines in every corner, businessmen asking for mersy, lots of good stuff.
We later burnt the parliament down, established workers' councils in every factory. This is how we actually run the country today!
First steps of the revolution? Appropriation of the appropriators, replacing the army with "people in arms", moving on to an economy where everyone produces according to their abilities and receives according to their needs. It's beautiful!

.................................................. ............................................

Nothing much happened. Immigrants were hunted down, politicians were found to be corrupt, unemployment went up. Not very newsworthy, is it?
Things regarding what has been going on in Greece came up in the Portuguese elections thread too, you can check it out.

That's quite right, unfortunately. I noticed that in the Portugal thread, some people were talking shit about the KKE, who were supposedly "denouncing" the struggles last winter and being "state agents". That's a load of horseshit, they did in fact denounce the killing, mobilized, and were attacked for it by the state and fascists.

However, their "problem" for certain people is that they mobilized along class lines, and they denied the idea of a "youth revolution". After all, the youth is not a separate, revolutionary class. Socialism can never be established by a "youth revolution" where only a small section of the population puts on a mask and spends a month fucking shit up before going back to school. I said at the time that it would probably fizzle out for that reason, and it happened. The KKE were right, and now the experience of December should be considered during further struggles.

Anyway, I hope the KKE will do well tomorrow.
