Who do you think should get the games? I think Rio should.

Why isn't Islamabad an option? Or maybe Riyadh?

I think we should get rid of the Olympics all together. They're little more than tools for slum-demolishing and gentrification, which makes real estate developers rich, but bankrupts cities. I really hope Chicago doesn't get the Olympics, as I want to quit hearing about them, but considering Barack and Michelle Obama and Oprah all went to Copenhagen to pledge their support, it's not looking good for me and the rest of the working class in Chicago.

Those were the only 4 cities that were shortlisted.

Maybe i've been buying into the media's arguments about a Rio victory being good for the South american economy, but it seems good that places in the developing half of the world get greater representation on the global stage. I think Obama has the least noble of reasons for turning up in Copenhagen, ie. careerism.

I'm going to be really selfish and say, in 2016, I'm really unlikely to be in Chicago. Yet, I might be in one of the other cities mentioned.

Therefore, I hope Chicago gets the bid.

That way, I'll be able to be in one of the other three (where I might be), without having to worry about Olympic bullshit.

I'm unlikely to be near any 4 of them so i'm safe as houses anyway.

Tokyo. Japan's economy could do with a good punch in the gut

Seriously though I'd rather that the games were called off because I'm of the "miserable bastard" school of leftism that holds that it's simply not worth having governments plough millions of curruncey units from their taxpayers into grand (but ultimately useless) projects like this. See the thread in OI for details on why.

If that were an option ...

By that logic you should go for Chicago since the US is more richly deserving of an economic gut punch.

I like the Japanese, a rich history and culture with great food. They also make the best animated pr0n.

Oh and yeah they have definately got the market cornered on animated porn. If that's your bag.

Sushi and sashimi is great, i would strongly recommend teriyaki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teriyaki) or ramen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramen) if you get the opportunity.

 Um, stiff legs on Air Force 1?

Anyway, doesn't Brazil also have a World Cup coming up?

How about that, do ye soccer fans feel the same way towards those games as you do the Olympics?

I was watching the local Fox affiliate and the consensus is that the international Olympic committee hates Americans. Wooop!

Meh, point taken.

But all the hot towels, gourmet dining and massage chairs in the world wont stave off jet lag so i'm half right.

Cant wait to see Glenn Beck do a anti-Obama style communist parody of the Olympic committee on fox.
