Looks like a last ditch attempt to appeal to the left, the Tories don't need to put their economic policy into practice, Nu Labour have been doing it for them. I wonder how many socialists will fall for this.

It seems like the changing objective conditions can have an effect even on New Labour and make them abandon the free-market fundamentalism they adhered to for the past two decades:rolleyes:. This comes to show though, how even the most corrupt and right wing leaders of the social-democracy, change their rhetoric to a more "left" one in the face of the loss of their cozy parliament seats. Hopefuly we can see a left-wing split in Labour that can create in Britain, something along the lines of Die Linke in Germany or Labour even becoming centrist. Time only will tell.

how "left wing " new labour will go will depend on how RW the new tory gov will be ...
