To write about a conflict in the world?

Im supposed to write about a conflict happening in the world, from 1990 to present time. Its very many conflicts to choose, because the US seem to fuck up every corner of the earth, but still I am wondering about which conflict would be the best to write about...

A piece of intolerable paper called NAFTA would be a good one. Aim at the suffering of the wage slaves in Mexico.

Do something that's not known. I'd say to do the wars between Ethiopia and Eritrea. Very few people realize how damaging those were.
