Five people were injured in clashes with occupation forces during a march organized by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine on September 25, 2009 in Burin, south of Nablus. The march, which commemorated the eighth anniversary of the martyrdom of Comrade Leader Abu Ali Mustafa as well as protesting land confiscation and settlement building, was attacked by occupation military forces.

The mass march launched from Burin toward land seized by illegal armed settlers and occupation military forces in order to expand illegal settlements. A large number of Burin residents, as well as representatives of political parties, social organizations and civil society institutions attended the march. Comrade Abu Kamal spoke on behalf of the PFLP, speaking about the life of Comrade Leader Abu Ali Mustafa and addressing the threats to the Palestinian national cause. In particular, he focused on the escalation of the illegal settlement project by the occupation and the Zionization of Jerusalem.

Comrade Abu Kamal concluded his speech by affirming the position of the PFLP upholding resistance and steadfastness in confronting the occupier. A number of occupation military forces arrived on the scene and blocked the marchers from reaching their confiscated land. 5 people, including journalists and international solidarity activists were injured, and the occupation forces imposed curfew on the town and flying checkpoints around the entrances to Burin.
