During a recent news segment, Al Jazeera aired a video obtained from inside Colombia of an interview conducted by police investigators of incarcerated Colombian paramilitary assassin Geovanny Velasquéz Zambrano. During the interview, obtained exclusively by Al Jazeera, the Colombian paramilitary confirmed that a "wealthy Venezuelan politician" named Manuel Rosales, offered him $25 million to assassinate President Chávez by any means. The conversation with Rosales took place at a secret meeting in 1999 with several Colombian paramilitary leaders. Rosales said that he personally would be in charge of the plan to assassinate President Chávez, though the money would come from several sources. The Colombian paramilitary forces involved in the assassination attempt first went for training in Catamumbo, on the border with Venezuela. But in 2004, approximately 100 Colombian paramilitary forces were detained in a farm outside of Caracas belonging to an opposition leader, Robert Alonso, who has often called for the violent overthrow of the Chávez administration. The Colombians were detained and accused of a plot to assassinate the President. They were found with military uniforms, weapons and sufficient ammunition to cause serious damage in the country. Robert Alonso, a Cuban-Venezuelan and brother of the famous actress Maria Conchita Alonso, fled in exile to Miami, where he has remained ever since, continuing to plot violently against President Chávez.

On the video aired by Al Jazeera, the Colombian paramilitary confirms that currently there are around 2500 Colombian paramilitary forces inside Venezuela with the objective of assassinating President Chávez and destabilizing the country.

Although assassination attempts against President Chávez have been denounced on several occasions, the international press and Venezuelan opposition have largely ridiculed such claims. Nevertheless, the presence of Colombian paramilitary members inside Venezuela is largely well known. This new revelation, from the mouth of one of the participants, confirms what Venezuela has been denouncing for some time: Colombia has been infiltrating paramilitary forces into the country to destabilize, from the inside, and assassinate the President, when and where possible. This information also confirms that Manuel Rosales did not flee Venezuela and request political asylum in Peru because he was facing corruption charges, but rather because he feared the truth would come out one day about his participation in a plot to assassinate the President. With this information, the Venezuelan government has the right to request Rosales' extradition from Peru, since political asylum cannot be granted to criminals.

update

Rosales is an operator of the conspiracy network in Venezuela at the service of the empire (http://www.abn.info.ve/noticia.php?articulo=201199&lee=17)

Caracas, Oct 01. ABN.- “Manuel Rosales is acting like a paramilitary commander, outside and inside Venezuela, which is a treason against the homeland (...) He offers himself as an operator for the conspiracy network,” said this Thursday the parliamentarian of the National Assembly, Mario Isea.

In the TV program Desperto Venezuela, broadcast by the Venezuelan state-run channel Venezolana de Television, Isea said that the plan to assassinate President Hugo Chavez, financed by the fugitive from Venezuelan justice Manuel Rosales, as it was revealed by the paramilitary Geovanny Velazquez Zambrano, is linked with an international media plan.

Likewise, Isea assured that allegedly the presidents of the private Venezuela TV channels Alberto Federico Ravell (Globovision) and Marcel Granier (RCTV), among other, are linked with these conspiracy strategies.

“They are trying to gain control over the oil union in order to carry out a new oil sabotage (...) The idea is to attack the energy sector in Venezuela to revive April, 11 [2002],” he recalled.

“Our mission is to dismantle this plan. We are going to disclose some names and we are going to work, so as to get the extradition of Manuel Rosales (who is i Peru) to Venezuela to be judged as he must be ,” he added.

25 million dollars

Colombian paramilitary and hit man Geovanny Velazquez Zambrano said from jail: A very rich Venezuelan politician, named Manuel Rosales, offered 25 million dollars to assassinate President (Hugo) Chavez, no matter how.”

The video recording was broadcast by the Arab channel Al-Jazeera obtained from Colombia in an interview carried out by Colombian investigators to the paramilitary man.

The talks with Rosales, who is part of the most reactionary opposition in Venezuela, took place during a secret meeting in 1999 that counted with the attendance of diverse paramilitary leaders, according to the North American researcher Eva Golinger.

She reminded that Rosales said that he would be personally in charge of the plot to assassinate the President.

First, the paramilitary forces hired for the assassination plan traveled to Catatumbo, in the border between Venezuela and Colombia, to get trained.

Then, in 2004, about 100 paramilitaries were arrested in the outskirts of Caracas, in a large-estate owned by Roberto Alonso, who is also part of the violent opposition sector, and they were accused of participating in a plan to assassinate the President.

Geovanny Velazquez assures that currently there are more than 2,500 paramilitaries in Venezuela hired to assassinate President Chavez and destabilize the country.

“However, the presence of paramilitaries in Venezuelan soil is widely known. This new revealing, from the mouth of one of the participants, confirms what has been denounced for so long: Colombia has been infiltrating paramilitaries in Venezuela to try to destabilize the country from inside,” Gollinger stated.

“It also confirms that, obviously, Manuel Rosales did not leave the country to request political asylum in Peru due to the corruption charges against him, but he knew that someday the truth about his participation in an assassination plan would be public. With this information confirmed, Venezuelan State has the right to request Rosales' extradition, because a country cannot grant asylum to a criminal,” she added.

when we abolish the state, there will be no reason for assassinations, because politicians will not exist. who keep alive the state, he will be afraid for his life:laugh:
so, when chavez abolish the state and make all people economic equal, there will be no 25 millions offer for assassination and there will be nobody who could be assassinated.
