Has anyone read this? I am reading it at the moment because I am fanscinated with that genre and the way Dowden writes is brilliant. He is clearly very informed and has a great agenda - dispelling the myths about Africa, and challenging the assumptions people make about it being one big homogenous area, almost as if it is one big country. He offers intriguing insights into the reality of life there, and how different one country is too any other.
I'm only about 5% of the way through as of yet but its clearly fantastically written.
