I've seen a few alienated, false conscious workers burst in tears when I shatter their capitalist view of the world.
It's like I shatter the world they were trying to believe in their whole lives.
For example, someone I knew was proud that her cousin was serving in Afghanistan "to keep America safe". After about 3 hours of discussion she almost fainted and burst into tears.
Someone else I knew, they were happy that they gave away 25% of their wealth to keep open sweat shops "to provide poor people in 3rd world countries jobs", after a discussion that lasted an hour and a half, he started crying, said "NOO! YOUR WRONG" and ran away sobbing.
I guess ignorance is bliss for these people. I think I'm not good at "spreading the message verbally", I end up making people sad and depressed about life rather then energized towards class struggle. The only exception is when I have to present my views through writing or if I can take notes before hand to organize my thoughts, I can convince people that way.
Does anyone have any qualms about ruining the false consciousness of workers under capitalist mind control after years of capitalist-schooling and decades of mass media capitalist propaganda?
I think it's sad when people some people finally realize all the wasted time and energy they spent satisfying the murderous agenda of the capitalists, but it must be done. To liberate them from their false beliefs and build class consciousness to advance class struggle!!!

Stealth brag topic.
But yeah, when you know the full realities of capitalism, which is 100% in control of the world, it can be pretty depressing.

I find people tend to dive into insane denial and wild accusations (apparently I want all strikers to be jailed. Among other humdingers.).

Possibly one of the most childish, self-serving of posts I have seen on this forum, your whole tone is off, you seem to be bragging about some skill you have, if your making people cry I'd suggest your being a bit of a prat about things really, you also seem to be referring to working class people in a quite odd way ('false concious workers?'). Think we need an attitude check here.

This.
And I live in the American South. So most rational arguments of any kind are met with insults and denial. The only person who will engage in rational arguments with me is my father. He makes a number of attempts to prove me wrong before conceding that I'm right, but that none of the stuff I'm talking about will happen anytime soon and if he'll be dead before it happens there is no reason for him to care.

Even if your accusations were correct, you make your feedback so patronizing and non-constructive that I find little reason for anyone to consider changing their attitudes based on it.

I get this sometimes, but the most common accusation I get is that I am against hard work and personal responsibility.
Btw for the people that say so, how is this bragging and self serving? I want to discuss what I could be doing wrong. Having fellow workers crying is definitely not my intention. Perhaps I was a little out of it last night, but I don't see anything self serving here.
I'm sure all of us have had our share of lively debates with people.
Engels used the term false consciousness. :star::hammersickle::blackA:

- I just want to be the next dictator
- I hate freedom
- I have a "perverted" fixation on russians
- I don't understand enough "about the world"
- I support too much government control
- I don't emphasize enough government control
- I hate white people

- I hate men

Its like people need a 'enemy' to look down on. For ages it was the Russians, and now it is the taliban or the whole of the poorer lands in the world. If you defend any of them, then you are 'just a child, who is naive, and cannot accept that capitalism and 'freedom' is the saving grace of humanity (under god:rolleyes:), and that when ever something bad happens in the world, its never capitalism', etc, etc.
I think people like this secretly just cannot handle the world they live in so they choose to stick the heads up their own arses. Heck, the worlds such a bad place, can you really blame them?
And yes, its amazing how quickly people resort to such pathetic slurs, such as accusing us of hateing white people, and having a perverted obsession with eastern europe and russia. Quite astonishing really.

-Yesterday someone told me that the only reason I don't recognize Obama as a communist is because the policies that I supposedly want failed to bring results under Obama.
-Yesterday someone told me that the workers in the USA are in democratic control of the means of production because they live in a democratic republic and they can choose where they want to work.
-Yesterday someone told me "yeah capitalism has killed a lot of people, but how many people has it kept alive?"
This is the kind of BS I get at a "Philosophy" chat sim.

That is the story of USA politics, from the conquests of the indigenous, to the blacks, to the japs, to the reds, and to the muslim extremists that "hate your freedoms"

lol we all have our advantages and disadvantages. For example unless I have a few minutes to organize my thoughts or take notes I have too many ideas and memories swimming through my head and I end up talking down to people instead of motivating them towards class struggle. Like the first two examples I gave.
C'mon I think a few of you need to lighten up. I didn't mean to offend anyone here with the content of this thread.
Let's here some stories where you were truly able to "pysche out" capitalist sympathizers.
