I'd choose Rogue State: The Rule of Force in World Affairs by Noam Chomsky because it's the only one out of the 2 I've heard of...cunning use of logic...

Right now I'm reading Rogue State: A guide to the Worlds only Superpower by William Blum.

I can't speak for the other book but Blum's book is superb. I can only read it for about 30 minutes at a time however, because I get so ticked off at the US policies that I have to stop and cool off for a few minutes before continuing. I just read Blum's other popular book "Killing Hope", which basically outlines all the CIA operations to overthrow foreign governments from 1945 to present. As cynical as I am, even I could not believe the shit that the CIA has pulled. Blum's books are a good read and should be required for the aspiring Socialist....

Actually there is a pretty interesting biography on Chomsky this week in the New Yorker. Lots of interesting articles.

William Blum is a brilliant writer. I suggest all of his published books and articles.

I have heard good things from my former History Teacher and my current PoliSci teacher about Blum's book.

I also want to pimp this fantastic book I bought on Monday. It's called "Why do people hate America?" by Ziauddin Sardar and Marryl Wyn Davies and it's just great.

Here's an excerpt from the introduction.

This is also not a book about the positive sides of the United States: those looking for a straightforward counterblast to the hatred expressed for America should stop reading now. It is a book about the consequences of interaction in a world in which gross disparities of power, wealth, freedom, and opportunity must be factored into each and every situation.
