The Danish-Palestinian Friendship Association in Denmark and the Danish Association for Solidarity and Support for the Palestinian Cause launched a media campaign from September 11, 2009, that will continue until September 27, 2009, on a traveling bus presenting information about Palestine to people throughout the country.
The bus has been fitted to accomodate 20 people, and includes technology for displaying movies and PowerPoint presentations about Palestine. The bus has traveled to many major Danish cities, including Copenhagen and Aarhus, and makes stops where local passers-by can visit and learn about Palestine. The theme of the campaign focuses on the continuing Nakba, displaying maps of Palestine from 1946 to the present day, presenting the ongoing and expanding occupation of Palestine.
The bus has met frienly, interested and curious reactions from many people, and the activists staffing the bus have a variety of literature to present, including booklets on theft of water, refugees and the right of return, Palestinian political prisoners and torture, land and occupation settlements, Jerusalem, the segregation wall, and exposing ties between the European Union and Israel. Palestinian and solidarity associations in the various cities have sponsored discussions and events prompted by the presence of the bus, and local chapters of the Danish-Palestinian Friendship Association plan to organize additional events.
