Oooh, tough choice, but I think I'd go for Catcher in the Rye, it's an awesome book, you have to read it! Mind you, I haven't read either of the other two.

I enjoyed Catcher of the Rye very much! I have Old Man and the Sea, but I have yet to read it. My English teacher was giving away GIVING AWAY books so I took many

I'd definitely go for Old man and the Sea or Of Mice and Men over Catcher in the Rye. I found Catcher in the Rye too much like an adult's view of what it is like to be young...

Maybe I've seen Conspiracy Theory one too many times but I vote for Catcher in the Rye. Every major assassin of the second half of the twentieth century had a copy of it on his shelf. Other than that, The Old Man and the Sea is probably the best.

Wow...what a choice. I've read all three, and I think I would put them in this order of importance.
1. Of Mice and Men (still one of my favorites. I've probably read it 100 times and it's still great. Steinbeck is better than anyone in painting the bleak Americana picture. You'll read Of Mice and Men and need a drink of water and to dust yourself off)
2. Catcher in the Rye....( fabulous, could easily be my first choice)
3. Old man and the Sea. ( God, I love Hemingway, and I love this story, but I think I would pick Snows of Killamanjaro over it. As great a novelist as Hemingway was, his short stories are truly amazing)
Bottom line...Read them all. You can blow through Old Man, and Of Mice and Men quickly and a little longer for Catcher in the Rye. These three books are books that you will keep and cherish forever.

I haven't read Of Mice and Men.
Old man and the Sea is awesome.
Catcher in the Rye is ok.
