its not just a job. you'll be forced into wars of imperialism no matter how you like it.
This is the line that caught me. I think that one day soon that i may be forced to "defend freedom" for the us govt. and that when i wont fight for the pigs, i will be killed myself. im scared of that, but more importantly, im scared of my ideals being lost. I plant the seed of revolution in all that i meet in the army and hope that the seed takes root in all young GI's and they believe what i do. Then if the Govt sends me to die for oil, my beliefs will be carried on. I will poison the minds of all the "republican nra kkk patriots" that i can as soon as i can before i am sent to die for beliefs that arent mine. If i am successfull... the struggle will survive.

This too hits me hard... i feel like i failed by joining the forces of the govt.

What are you doing there in the first place? I don't have much experience with people from the army, but I've never met an intelligent soldier. That's not to say that you're not intelligent, but I'd imagine that that is the norm. I think this would be even more so in the US.

I think most of the young GIs would be nationalistic fools who think that bombing Afghanistan is like winning the superbowl.

I am a computer tech in the army... i feel that the rest of the people i work for and with are just redneck, kill-em-all types who want to die for something they know nothing about. I need to get out but the govt. has kept me in the army against my will. I am supposed to be a civilian by now and they continue to make me be apart of their system. I want out, but since i cant, i need a way to fight from the inside. I have been repremanded neumerous times because of my political beliefs, however, they make me be a part of a corporation that is evil and money hungry. I want to help, but i need info on how to do so, w/o going to jail or dying, so i can be effective....

I don't really have any ideas on what you could do, unfortunately. If you are a computer tech perhaps you could proliferate all sorts of terrible information on the computer system across the internet.

I don't think you are going to convince too damn many people in the army that what they are doing is wrong.
Did you just wake up one morning and become a leftist, already trapped within the military? I'm not sure that you can take down the army alone, but I'd covertly try to find more people and see if any of your higher-ups share your relative beliefs.

Are you going to Turkey/Iraq?
If so, the fields of combat could provide the means useful for betraying your comrades, which I wouldn't do, but "bringing down the system from the inside" entails it. If you are wiling to die as well, I'd say some major damage could be done, but from the short posts here, you seem hardly the type to sacrifice either yourself or others, which is probably good at this point.

If you find that many of the redneck soldiers simply like the army because it provides them with live targets, try educating the minority students, especially those from the inner city. Many of them simply join for lack of a quality education with which to obtain a decent job.

Putting aside all the jokes and rhetoric, you need to get out of there.

I suggest that you become mentally ill...specifically, clinical depression. Do a google search and read up on the symptoms; from the sound of your posts, you won't have to "fake" much.

While your complaint is being processed, do absolutely as little work as you can...and fuck up as much as is plausible.

When they talk to you, just tell them flatly that you made a big mistake and the military is not for you.

Always sound "low" and "down"...forget about talking politics. Your line is "nothing is worth anything any more."

This should get you one of those "neutral" discharges...afterwards, simply lie to future employers and don't tell them you were ever in the military.

Forget about any kind of political agitation...victorious armies never listen to criticism. This is a case where you definitely need to "save yourself."

I just learned that the grande man was muslim, which really changed my mind about the whole issue. I am sure he was threatened many times and given some serious flak. One of my old friend's boyfriend (after me) signed up the day after September 11, and was sort of a general hick I think. Anyway, he had a man of Middle-Eastern origin who was constanly shit on by the other people. Eventually, they beat him up so far as to kill him, but his family back home was told that he commited suicide.

The fastest way to get out is to be openingly GAY. Just start hitting on all the guys in your unit. You won't believe how fast they'll get you out of the Army.
