I only listen to them sometimes when I watch mtv or listening to the radio.
But I always zap away fastly when there is some kind of poser on tv again.
And the bad thing is that their music especially reaches kids, who are easier influenced, and start to think that it is cool to be like '50ct' or something.
And the lack of music with good strong leftist-messages on mtv and the most radio channels over here is really bothering to me.
The last leftwing song with a strong message that I've seen on MTV was 'The saints are coming, by greenday'
And that's already some time ago. Or I missed out on some things or forgot.
But to get back on-topic.
Do you listen to capitalist artists? And wich ones? And do you like it? You'll won't get restricted or banned for admitting to like it. (you''ll won't get banned right?)
Be hounest.:) P.S. I forgot to say for my self wich artists I hear.
I get confronted with a lot off Kanye West lately.

Rap is alright, but that is what drove me away from it, the whole sell out shit, and the racism, and the sexism... and so on, i hated the whole 'im from the hood and i still act like i am and pose with guns and drugs in the street but i live in a mansion and dont help the hood out' that angers me alot....
So to answer the question, i try not to but sometimes it has a good message, like The Game's 911 Is A Joke, dedicated to the Sean Bell thing in new york and all the other police brutaility shit......
You dont need fat cat music, there is so much popular stuff that is sort of semi-fat cat... like its on a lable, but it isnt 'sell out' (for eg Jeffery Lewis or Dead Kennedys)...

Of course I do (does anyone actually make a conscious effort to only listen to artists who are anti-capitalist?). I listen to anything that sounds good as long as it's not Nazi or something like that.

I listen to whatever I enjoy regardless of whether the artist is "Capitalist" or not. I usually download most of my music anyway so it's not like they're making a profit off me.

one of my fave artists ever... has to be Paul Carter, 100% not capitalist in anyway. Just a bloke with an acoustic guitar doing great punk songs about booze, pretty girls at asda and having a shit job lol
Also, if you like hip hop and poetry, Attila The Stockbroker is great, i think i've mentioned him enough this week lol... but im determined to get people to listen to him

This. Although in my experience the indie bands (nowadays) tend to be better than mainstream bands. (nowadays)
Also, when it comes to well known bands in America, they mostly suck. America is a mainstream hell hole.

Normally, no, I don't; however, I make an exception for Frank Zappa.

I actually feel the opposite. I find alot of the indie bands sound so much the same. There is a few I like though.

With indie music, I find myself mostly turned off due to the strong connection with hipsters and other Stuff White People Like types. Too much of it reeks of the worst levels of bourgeois. I also find it most irritating, as a trained classical musician, to hear so many of them deliberately singing recycled 1980s crap out-of-key and considering it oh-so-arty because, wink wink, they're doing it all sarcastically.
Always allowing for exceptions, though, I make it a point to try new indie acts a few times per week, to stay on top of the interesting and talented bands that do come out of that environment. Like with experimental and electronic music, you never know; and even though indie's signal-to-noise ratio is not so stellar, it is always a treat to find some obscure gem in the mine.

Not really, I pretty much only listen to music produced by artists I have at least some respect for.
