Didn't one exist in Russia during the Revolution? And the Maoists in Nepal are creating one....

Your thoughts on parallel government? A lot of people will say creating the structures of workers' democracy is something reserved for the post-revolutionary period. I'm not sure I agree with that.

There is an anarchist theory upheld by many here that instituions of working class power in both the social and economic sphere could be built and come into being that will grow to the extent that they begin to come into full conflict with the state and the capitalists and can be used as vehicles of revolution. This is quite close to anarcho-syndicalism. This is called the 'theory of dual power' and it's something I subscribe too.

Stancel, have you read my most recent blog (up for some time now)? There's talk of parallelism there.

I think that the only fruitful thing for Socialists to do right now, in most countries, would be to found a union which creates employment and a standard of living equally to everyone.

It would also be the best possible member recruitment campaign, to show that Socialism generates well-being and happiness, which many people doubt because of so many miserly "Communist" states in recent world history.
