Sup, all?
I'm a deli worker and US Army vet recently moved into the Philly metro area and I've been an anarchist for the better part of my adult life (grew up without a label, without direction, etc). I've been involved with IVAW's work on GI Resistance and Counter-Recruitment (as a former AWOLee myself), as well as organizing and demonstrating with the IWW and SDS, and mainly focus my efforts these days on performing self-organized skill shares of my medical training with anyone who will listen. Seeing as how health care is a rather contentious (and therefore deadlocked) issue these days, I figure doing my bit to educate others about some basic preventative medicine might do the working folk who ain't got a Senator's health coverage a bit of good. I can tell you, finger nail infections alone can put a worker around here out of commission if they aren't careful.
That being said, the 'State of the Left' in the US is apparent; it has failed to grasp the very roots of blue collar anger at the economic state of affairs and is losing its momentum to what essentially amounts to populist pro-capitalist grandstanding. I'm ready to get to work taking that initiative back, effective immediately.
