View Full Version : A Vote That Could Mean Something

As a self-proclaimed anarchist, I have the tendency to be cynical about voting. I tell people that politicians cant solve anything, that voting is a modern-day "opium of the masses", that we would be better off revolting instead of voting. And then I found this (http://www.legis.state.tx.us/tlodocs/81R/billtext/html/HJ00131I.htm).

81(R) HJR 131 is a bill being introduced and if successful will put an amendment over-turning the constitutional ban on gay marriage up for vote in November.

Now, as much as I hate these kinds of politics, this is just too good to pass up. I've decided to spread the word to everyone I know and get it out in my area that we need to pressure the politicians to put this through. What with the mobilization going on in the after-math of Prop. 8 I think we might really stand a chance if we push hard enough.

Thoughts, ideas, comments.

If there is actually a good chance of that bill passing, then go for it. But I seriously doubt you are going to be able to convince many people around you, especially if they have a record to be intolerant towards that theme.
