Hello comrades. I'd like to begin by introducing myself (as I'm sure most do, here in the introduction forum) I go by Rob, I'm from Massachusetts in the United States. I'll try to adhere to the suggested talking points for an utter lack of anything creative to contribute so I'll say here that the left in Massachusetts is generally Anarchist and Anarcho-Communist. There are quite a few communes where I am from. Anarchism plays a prominent role in most revolutionary activity around here.
However this is not the particular leftist philosophy i subscribe to. I consider myself to be a plain, old Leninist. I say Leninist simply because I do not subscribe to Marxist-Leninism (Stalinist) or Bolshevik-Leninism (Trotskyist) although I can easily see myself converting to the latter, the only reason I haven't yet is due to a lack of reading by Trotskyist authors. If anyone wants to suggest certain works I'd be happy to hear from you.

To touch upon the last point. I had always grown up in a generally poor environment despite my mother working very long hours. I found it odd that one could work so hard and not make a name for yourself. Eventually when I got to high school, I got a group of friends who often attributed anything bad to Communism. I often would ask them what the term meant but never got a straight answer. So one day I finally decided to wikipedia the subject. To be honest I didn't get much out of it other than a weird looking bearded guy who wanted everyone to be equal. At the time however, global equality was a very appealing idea to me, so from that point on I described myself as a communist. Later on in high school I met a fellow who very much liked philosophy. His philospher of study at the time happend to be Karl Marx, who I later learned was the name of that silly looking bearded man who would have ideological dominance over me for years to come. He intordued me to the famous "Communist Manifesto" and the rest as they say is historical development.

At any rate, Im pleased to meet you all and am hoping to make contributions to this forum and to learn some things too.
