I am trying to find some good quality history books that are not from the establishment or nationalist outlook. I am interested from any period ancient, medieval, modern and otherwise . I am not aware that any of Amino Yoshihiko or Ishimoda Shō works have been translated into English. It does not have to be strictly marxist , if a A People's History of Japan type book exists or even something equivalent to French Annales School, I would be happy to read it.
