Does anyone here just feel like blowing their fucking brains out after so many years living this capitalist consumerist nightmare.
I feel so low, i dont see the point in us campaigning for communism by democratic means, its fucking useless, and i am so ashamed i have not done anything to change that.
Everyone on the left who keeps the veneer of democracy should be ashamed, were giving up and onforming to the system.

I am not so much troubled by the actual living in capitalist society. Party due to me living in social democracy, partly due to my relatively humble needs. I am however sometimes depressed by the people around me. So vile forsaken scum and so many of them. Not a shred of reason to be found... :(

No, life is beautiful. Let us hope that this generation will cleanse it of all evil, oppression, and violence, and enjoy it to the full.

No. Life is amazing. Even being unemployed over a year and juggling bills, I'm still filled with amazement and wonder. I saw a shooting star the other night. :thumbup1:
Killing yourself isn't the answer. It's just doing the bosses job for them.

If so, I must think that you are either privileged or naive.
You're not special. Get over yourself.

Is it really hard for a lot of people to understand that someone would be so disgusted by the current order that they would kill themselves?

It's not hard, but it's also not hard for me to understand why someone would kill themselves because a lover has left them. Life is hope. Death is forever, and comes to us all too god damn fucking soon no matter how long we live.

Here in South Florida the marginal unemployment rate is more than 16%, almost 1 in 6 people. It's brutal. I'm actually starting work on Monday on a contract position, at half the wages I earned last year. :(

I am not a suicidal person. I really don't have those tendencies at all. However, lots of people around me have committed suicide for whatever reasons and I understand that people do.
To the OP, this really isn't a positive way to think. Please if you seriously feel like this, try to talk about it with friends and family, and if you for some reason can't seek profesional help.

Please get some help and talk to someone. Don't give up, change will come and you should be around to see it. One of my cousins just committed suicide a week ago and the feeling is so painful it's hard to put into words.

Yeah, I understand where you're coming from. I fucking hate living in this, as you've put it, capitalist consumerist nightmare. Its maddening, and frustrating, and even moreso that even many "communists" are content with it.
What the fuck?

The historic failure of the revolutionary movement to overthrow capitalism is not personally your fault, and it's not something you need to feel ashamed about. And when the historical conditions (which, again, are not something you can control) change, and worthwhile revolutionary activity does become possible, it'd be a great shame if you weren't there for it. This, too, shall pass.

I also have hatred of this 'liberal bourgious consumerst nightmare', but at the same time it is also both amusing and fasinating to see how far people go to 'keep in touch'. Just look at all of the 'get rich quick' sceams and reality TV programs that are around now.
Everyone wants to be a superstar and are so dam nascisistic, that they probably do not realise it themselves. Its all me me me.
How many people do you see nowadays driving around in cars that they blatantly cannot afford, and are only doing this just to get 'street-cred' and not even for the sheer admiration of the mechanics and asthetics of the car itself. The same can be said about the property ladder too. People dont even go into it because they love the location and feeling of the property, but only because they see it as 'a great investment'. And for something to boast about.
I dont know whether im beggining to sound like a purist here, but people are so obssessed by money that things are actually starting to loose their traditional value. As the case of houses, they where once a pivital part of someones life. It was their home. Nowadays, people by houses and dont even live in them, but expect other to rent it of them for hefty prices, just so they can make a profit.
In part the media doesnt help things. Its all 'look at the new celebrity couple!' as if we are all surposed to stop everything and look at them in awe as the 'perfect thing to aspire too'.
Todays society is a big test for human resolve, and i think that human kind is failing because every day, I see humans reaching new lows, and showing zero restraint of their dangerous egos.
I think my mate actually had a point in school when he joked to me that the word 'respect' is nothing but a word, and means nothing. His warped joke seems to be becoming true.

Also dont get me started on myspace and facebook. People 'advertising' themselves almost as if they are a commodity. Its sad that people need to hide behind a computer monitor to pull and make new 'friends' (that they will probably never meet) who they are only using to make themselve look like they have a social status that is miles better than the truth.
Dont get me wrong here, the actual concept of facebook isnt so bad, just its too easy to lie about who you really are, and can actual make you look bad to even more people if you are not popular.
The icing on the cake is that alot of work places have there own facebook pages. Everyone joins, trying to be popular, and low n behold, work is montoring you 24/7.

You have to understand that only revolutionary conditions can create revolutionary groups. That is why reformism and parliamentarism dominates. It is just a natural consequence of the present conditions.

Fighting capitalism is actually one of the things that gives my life meaning.
If it weren't for that, then what else is there? Video games? Well, certainly I like video games, but there are more important things. Maybe helping your family or friends? To the anti-capitalist, I'd say we extend the circle of people we want to help beyond just our family and friends to a much broader section of society.
