I guess I'm going to get a little controversial here, but I don't think the tapes that are released are really him. He probably died a long time ago of an illness and they fake tapes to keep people talking about "the enemy". Notice how he says the war in Afghanistan in unwinnable, so people don't want to have the same position as bin Laden. Exactly at a time when a majority of Americans are beginning to oppose the war in Afghanistan.

CNN even raises the issue in an article, "Are these tapes real? Not one of the dozens of tapes released by bin Laden after 9/11 has been a fake. Indeed the U.S. government has authenticated many of them using bin Laden's distinctive voiceprint."

Yeah, because we should trust the US government on this....LOL:thumbup1:

This is another conspiracy theory. As logical as it sounds, it should not be put forward by Marxists. For the simple reason that Marxism is a science, so we therefore need to always use facts, figures and examples. We cannot have positions that are based on conspiracies, who in turn are based on the imagination of someone.

Sorry, but you're not my public relations agent...I don't care if I look crazy. I'm already crazy to many for being where I am politically. An imperialist government waging false propaganda campaigns around opportune times is not like saying the world is controlled by Masonic reptilians.

First, where's your proof?

Second, who cares?

KC, Eat the rich, donīt be so negative.

Itīs not like itīs a theory, itīs just a random thought. I was wondering about a similar thing recently.

I figured if I had been Bin Laden and dying in 2001 I probably wouldīve made at least a hundred tapes. In some tapes Iīd be reacting to presidential elections, others to a US victory in Iraq, others to US defeat in Iraq, basically any hypothetical scenario. That way I could seem alive and well for seemingly one or two decades more.

Anyway. This has no effect on actual worker struggles in current capitalist states, nor how we should interpret current geopolitical events. But we can think about these things, and I donīt see why not.

bin Laden is probably not so very dangerous today. Most well-trained and experienced fighters of his organisation are either dead, captured or converted today. Today, the main bulk of al Qaeda's organisation consists of 15 year old brats who mostly are laptop warriors writing on sunni islamist forum communities. While certainly not harmless, I doubt such an organisation could undertake another 9/11.

It makes sense for the US to maintain that Bin Laden is still alive in order for them to be able to bring through more authoritarian forms of control upon their population. Whether he is still alive or not I do not know.

I never claimed that your thought is crazy. On the contrary I called it logical. But you cannot convince a lot of people about its validity, since you do not have proof, facts and figures to support your claim.
