their right, its sheer Irony, the capitalist world selling a communist's face. Its also sick, I really can't stand it. I hate how his face is being used by ppl for their capital. I have not bought a Che shirt (made yes, but not buy).

Well it was an interesting article. I just wish that when you bought a che shirt you'd get a biography with it, so at least you would know a little about che. Before I found out anything about him I refused to wear a che shirt, it just wouldn't be right when I knew nothing about him, but now i don't wear one because buying one would mean supporting the capis.
Che vive, but it appears to be only through marketing.

BlueRev, that's awesome that you make your own Che shirts. How do you do it in a way that the picture doesn't fall off when you wash and dry it?

Someone should have exclusive rights to ches portraits and images like a member of his family. What ever happened to his children? I dont want some greedy driven american or south american scalliwag to be making a profit off of him.

In the broadest sense, the whole issue of Che's images seem to have become some sort of twisted parody of public ownership, as long as you don't illegally reproduce anything, like a photograph from a private collection, you're safe, apparently. But you're right, interests are better protected if represented by legitimate parties...

I recently bought a che T-shirt, but I already read is biography 2 years before so I know who he is. And if people don't I tell them, I never heard people who thought he was a football player yet...

UHhh, i dont know. I use that sticker shirt paper that they sell in the store all over the place, i get the image off my computer, print, then iron it on. Ive never had any of the pictures fall off, but then again i hardly wear them so i hardly wash them. maybe its the shirt (cotton).
i know this post seems strange, but i really dont know how to answer your question in a way that doesnt sound strange ^.^ ()

I was recently looking at a Subcomandante Marcos t-shirt at some online store, and noticed that it had some text under the image. It explained his cause. I think this is a very good idea, and perhaps this should be done to Che shirts. None of the Che shirts I have seen have had anything like that, has anyone else seen any? I think it's a good idea and should be done. Someone could read your shirt while walking down the street, or someone buying the shirt could read the info. Sure, not a ton of information could be fit on a shirt, but it could perhaps inspire people to pick up a Biography, or read some more about him online.

Hmm well i actually take a different view to most of you. I believe that in some ways the way Che has been marketed had allowed for his enduring image to survive and reach ppl all around the world. I dont argee with massive companies (like JD Sports) making money off his image to market thier products but in many ways there is nothing u can do. I say let the capiltalist bastards make their money they are only adding to Che's Legend when capiltalsim falls they will be thinking "wosnt it ironic that we solf T Shirts that fueled left wing tendacys in ppl"

I agree, while it is in a way sickening, capitalism's downfall will be its habit of assimilation. Every major sociopolitical movement has been bought out and absorbed by the pop machine. The beatniks, hippies, punks, rappers, they all fell this way, eventually turning to buy their own movement, their own clothing and music from the machine they were fighting. But absorbing these movements is a dangerous step. One of these days, they'll swallow one without disempowering it. Rap became only about bling bling and girls, punk became really just about music and spikes, but how are they gonna disable a revolutionary like che? it's so direct. you can't split his face from his ideas. Anyone can look that up and be infected by knowledge.
