Pick up those dimes and nickels! i usually have a lot of them from purchases and its gets annoying carrying them around and sometimes losing them. but i found out a simple way to convert nickels and dimes into quarters. its still not paper money but its a lot easier than those tiny coins.

Soda machines usually accept dimes and nickels. and if you put in a fair amount and press the return button they usually drop out quarters which is so much easier to handle.

i dont know how to make it all into paper money though besides asking a cashier to do it.

if anyone has any other tips on converting change into larger denominations please post here.

I also find for people who carry around large amounts of change, carrying a magnet helps. That way they can stick alot of it to the magnet to keep it together. I did keep a magnet in my purse for awhile until I stopped carrying around large amounts of change.

There's always coinstar machines...however these do take 7p per £ that you put in for use of the service (not sure of the conversion rate in the U.S)

Err, how about going into a bank and asking them to change it for you?

As for magnets, I don't know of any currency that would let you do that. Certainly none of the stuff that I've had recent contact with. (I thinking over 6 or 7 types.)
